Following continued year-on-year growth and an expanded customer base, our client is looking for a confident, organised Internal Sales Administrator to join their established sales team. You'll be a key point of contact for customers, handling enquiries, building quotations and taking ownership of orders from first call to final delivery. You'll work closely with colleagues across sales, production and procurement to make sure every customer gets the right product, on time, every time.
Based in a friendly office in Calne, Wiltshire, this full-time role offers a competitive salary with a salary review on successful completion of your probation period, plus bonus opportunities. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 5.15pm, with an early 5.00pm finish on Fridays.
As an Internal Sales Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
- Handling incoming customer calls and entering quotations and orders onto the system accurately.
- Delivering consistently high levels of customer service, making sure the right information is communicated every time.
- Managing a shared sales inbox alongside the team and responding promptly to customer enquiries.
- Taking ownership of orders from entry on SAP through to delivery of goods.
- Guiding customers to the right product solution for their application.
- Preparing and sending your own quotations promptly and following up where needed.
- Issuing order confirmations and checking for customer acknowledgement.
- Liaising with Production once orders are placed to prevent and resolve any issues.
- Working closely with the Procurement Manager on order requests and outstanding orders, and keeping customers updated.
The role of Internal Sales Administrator requires the following skills and experience:
- Experience in a sales, customer service or office administration environment. We would also welcome applications from candidates with retail, hospitality or call centre experience looking to move into a corporate setting.
- Confident, articulate and enthusiastic communication skills, with a natural ease on the phone.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- A sharp eye for detail and a customer-first mindset.
- Good computer and keyboard skills.
- Minimum GCSE Grade C or 4/5 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- Sales training, telephone sales experience or familiarity with SAP Business One is desirable but not essential, as full training is provided.

As Internal Sales Administrator, you'll join a supportive, close-knit sales team where around 90% of your work will be inbound calls and enquiries. Customers will come to you for order updates, quotations and advice on which product best suits their needs, so you'll quickly build valuable product knowledge. You'll receive full training on SAP, including how to process orders through the system, so you can hit the ground running with confidence.
You'll also be partnered with a member of the external sales team through a buddy system, working together to manage customer requirements and keep orders moving. With enquiries shared between teams across two UK sites, there's a real sense of team effort and collaboration.
