An impactful and innovative business in central Swindon are looking for an Information Assurance Manager to take this pivotal role in a new team within the organisation and manage the handling of all data, data compliance and the creation of effective business data operations.
Working from home, the Information Assurance Manager will manage the handling of all data, data compliance and the creation of effective business data operations within the organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Information Assurance and Complaints, the Information Assurance Manager will:
- Manage three data related email inboxes and investigate any incidents or data breaches.
- Manage and triage all information rights requests, liaising with relevant internal stakeholders
- Analyse, address and provide required improvements relating to the cause of data breaches.
- Resolve Data & Information related queries and requests, alongside the Head of Department.
- Draft NDAs, MOUs, contracts and other data related agreements.
- Ensure that all staff across the business have received the appropriate training in relation to data handling and data protection.
- Manage a junior member of staff and provide daily support and on-the-job training.

- A professional qualification in Data Protection, GDPR, Freedom of Information, Information Assurance or Information Management.
- Previous experience of working in a similar data/ information role within a large, complex organisation.
- A capability to manage a variety of different simultaneous projects while still adhering to deadlines.
- Previous information rights handling experience.
- Experience of managing data breaches, as well as working proactively to prevent them.
- Experience of training staff to ensure data best practice.
The role of Information Assurance Manager…
The role will sit within a new team of 6 staff, headed by a long-standing employee of the organisation. You will assist with the management and sharing of all data and information held by the company and will be the first point of contact in terms of managing and acknowledging information rights requests and incidents. Assisted by a more junior team member, you will handle any information assurance matters and manage any incidents and data breaches. In order to be successful, you will have a drive for resolving complex requests and incidents in an environment where strategy and governance is critical.
