Joining a small and collaborative finance team, you’ll take full ownership of your ledger, working closely with Sales Account Managers to ensure efficient debt recovery and smooth customer onboarding. This is a hands-on, relationship-led role where your ability to manage disputes, monitor debt, and handle reconciliations will be crucial. With hybrid working (3 days in the Newbury office), a competitive salary, plus a 10% bonus and full benefits package, it’s a brilliant opportunity for a confident Credit Controller ready to hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage credit control across two business divisions – FXC (off-trade) and Jascots (on-trade), handling both structured and relationship-based accounts.
- Conduct risk assessments and onboard new customers, setting appropriate credit limits.
- Monitor debt levels and escalate overdue balances to finance leadership.
- Investigate and resolve invoice queries, often involving PO matching and reconciliation.
- Produce aged debtor analysis and other Excel-based reports as required.
- Collaborate closely with Sales Account Managers to maintain strong customer relationships.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous credit control experience is essential; FMCG exposure is desirable.
- Comfortable using SAP (or similar ERP systems) and confident with Excel functions such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Proven ability to manage disputes and reconciliations independently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to liaise with both large corporates and independent businesses.
- Organised, reliable, and proactive – takes full ownership of their work.
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
